Innovation in Health

Purpose

This class is about the health care sector in business.  Topics may include innovations in hospitals and facilities, pharmaceuticals, insurance, health care plans and medical devices.

Participants learn about new products, companies, and management strategies using short case studies, active discussion, and role-play.  The purpose is to become able to build relationships in business by conversation - from basic turn taking and etiquette to brainstorming and informal presentation.

The class studies 3-4 short cases as recently reported in a business magazine focused on innovation.  Each participant receives a copy of the magazine and a case study guide with links to online resources. The instructor teaches with the magazine and with other visual media, including whiteboard, mind-maps, presentations and website.
