Cogent Language Exchange™ is what we call our initial free consultation session. It is a 1:1 conversation on the topic of yourprojects and career. No cost, no forms, no paper, no AI, no recording, and no commitments.

Just talk. About an hour, informal, confidential, wide-ranging, friendly. You are what the talk is all about, and so it will start and end with you. We begin by discussing your projects, your meetings, your career so far, and your ideals. In exchange, I will offer some actionable advice about all of these key concerns – that is, some “cogent language” for you, going forward. 

Of course, this exchange will also serve you as a way to test the vibe of Cogent Language coaching and its fitness to your career. So, let’s jam, shall we?

Exchange™ FAQ’s

  • It is simple. We offer four services only, all based on sessions of 1:1 talk about one hour long. This service – our Cogent Language Exchange™ – is free. It is one session of about an hour. 

    Our other services are Speaking for Your Projects, English for Your Projects, and Mentoriing for Your Projects. These are packages of 10 sessions randing in cost from USD $ 200 to USD $1000.

    Note that these full coaching packages are all only available by mutual agreement after a Cogent Language Exchange™. 

  • Free consultation on career project know-how. No forms, no paper, no AI agents, no attachments, no recording, Just talk.

    The talk will be informal, confidential, wide-ranging, and friendly. It will take about an hour.   In that timeframe, we will develop actionable ideas on growing project know-how for your career going forward. 

  • Cogent Language Exchange™ serves you as a way to sample the vibe of Cogent Language coaching and test its fitness to your career. It serves me as a way to see if I could really bring enough value to to act as your coach over time.  If the vibe and fitness are good for both of us, it will be easy to sign up for a 10-session program.

  • I think experience is a better teacher than words, so, to really find out what it is like to talk with me, I’d say why not sign up for an Exchange™ and see? If you want some words about the conversation we are likely to have, the one good one would be “cogent”.   • Honestly, because there is only one mentor (me/Dan)  and a couple of different programs - Exchange™and Mentoring™.  There are more slots for Mentoring. 

    Operationally, Cogent Language is more like an open mike event or a small jazz club.  This business model doesn’t scale, I know, and there are no plans for Cogent Language to expand. However, arena rock and asset accumulation are not the reasons for its being. Cogent Language exists for the quality of co-creation, the learning and its application on both sides of the see-saw, the “art”, if you will, of cogent language, 

  • The agenda for this talk is largely yours. Prepare to lead a lot of it based on your own project career interests and concerns.  That said, please also prepare to discuss one important complete (or terminated) team project, one of which you were a team member from start to finish. We will call this your “project in focus”. We will use it as a way to consider your team project experience and know-how in some depth.
